What Should You Do If a Website is Down Only For You?

If our global test server shows that a website is UP, but you still cannot open it on your phone or computer, the issue is likely on your local connection or ISP. Here are the fastest troubleshooting steps:

  1. Perform a Hard Refresh: Press Ctrl + F5 (or Cmd + Shift + R on Mac) to bypass cached versions of the page.
  2. Flush Local DNS Cache: Open Command Prompt on Windows and type ipconfig /flushdns to clear stale DNS records.
  3. Switch DNS Providers: Change your device DNS to Google Public DNS (8.8.8.8) or Cloudflare DNS (1.1.1.1).
  4. Clear Browser Cookies: Stale session cookies can sometimes trigger HTTP 400 Bad Request or 403 Forbidden errors.
